Eighth Grade Graduation Requirements

In order to receive a diploma and participate in the Commencement Ceremony, YOU MUST:
  1. Have 50 credits for the entire eighth grade year
  2. Have no more than 4 "U"s (work habits and cooperation combined) or 2 "U"s (cooperation) on the final Spring grade report.
  3. Have a good behavioral record.
  4. Have a clear financial record.
  5. Have a clear Uniform Citation record.
  6. Have passing grades in English and Math and meet the proficiency requirements.
  7. Have parents attend three meetings during the eighth grade year.
Eighth Graders must meet Graduation Requirements in
order to participate in Eighth Grade Activities
Eighth Grade Class Dues
 
Class dues will be collected in your child's ET during February. Dues will be payable by cash or check. The amount this year is $40.00.
Please make checks payable to Emerson Middle School.
8th grade dues pay for:
  • 8th grade panorama picture
  • 8th grade graduation t-shirt
  • 8th grade graduation ceremony
  • 8th grade graduation party/dance
  • Any other 8th grade activities here on campus
Your dues DO NOT pay for: 
  • Emerson Middle School Yearbook
  • Grad Night activity in June
